HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING FOR BUSINESS USERS
Health & Safety Executive
Guidelines
The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) clarified guidelines in 2003 for a health & safety policy in relation to "driving at work". The guidelines confirmed that every firm requiring an employee to use a vehicle in the course of employment has the same duty under the "Health & Safety at Work Act" to provide a written safety policy and appropriate training and guidance to ensure the vehicle is a safe place to work.
PUWER 98
The Provision of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER 98) also requires employers to provide adequate training for work equipment. In many cases, particularly in the off-road context, Land Rover products will be classed as work equipment.
THE LAND ROVER SOLUTION
Land Rover Experiences offer LANTRA Awards integrated training and assessment courses for employers and employees at each of the nine U.K centres,
including the one in the West Country.
The full course is of two days duration and each delegate will be given the highest quality tuition on vehicle systems, equipment function, driving skills and techniques.
Training is delivered by a network of Land Rover Experience Instructors registered with Lantra Awards thus ensuring training is delivered to an agreed national consistent standard throughout the UK.
At the end of the course successful delegates are awarded a Certificate of Basic Training which is recognised by the Health & Safety Executive.
Course Cost
The 2 day course costs £200 + vat per day and can be booked at
the centre.
